Write-up Wenesday {Redeeming Love}

Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers

A eight years old she entered a life too horrific for my sheltered mind to comprehend.

At sixteen her heart was cold, unmovable and her body performed the duties her occupation demanded.

How does a heart feel, let alone heal?  How can a girl re-learn love when everyday it is presented as a mere progression of actions sought by heartless men?

The journey of hurt and healing were traveled by the excellent pen of Francine Rivers.  Deep emotion had my heart screaming in agony and melting in love. This tale made my insides shudder and my heart ache.  Yes, a novel, but reality for so many women.

When Michael Hosea obeyed God's call to marry this unlikely canidate for his love, the story of Redeeming Love unfolded.  She didn't understand.  She couldn't understand.  But marrying Michael out of desparate circumstances brought a new life for Angel.  Her heart of stone was slowly softened.  She rebelled against feeling, hurt her lover, ran away and fought hard to resist the healing ointment of love.

Patient, kind and sacrificing, Michael held true to his commitment at all cost.  Proving love by his actions and attitudes, Angel came to understand and see Jesus.  Jesus was lived out daily in the form of her husband.  She used every tactic of escape she could, but yet she was pursued by One greater than her past.

The ugly became beautiful, because of Jesus.

Please Note: The debase and horrible settings and implications of a life of a prostitute were plainly written.  The good and the bad were displayed in all the glory of the written word.  Needed, yes, but often a bit too explicit for me.  With this in mind, please read at your own discretion.

breakfast for dinner

I didn't set out any meat, I had no plan except I wanted breakfast for supper.

I typed "pancakes" into the Pinterest search box and clicked on this picture.

Cinnamon Pancakes come back to me.

Thick pancakes that were so tasty I almost decided to forgo the cinnamony goodness... glad I didn't make that mistake.

Slight variations I made;
1/2 wheat 1/2 white flour
yogurt instead of sour cream
honey replaced sugar

Top with pure maple syrup, some homemade whipping cream and you're left with - perfection x100.
